Privacy Policy

Effective date: 18 July 2026

This policy covers autorota, a shift-scheduling app for iPhone and iPad.

The short version

autorota collects nothing. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We do not operate a server that holds your data, and we cannot see your schedules, your team, or anything else you put into the app.

What data the app handles, and where it lives

Everything you enter — shifts, team members, availability, wages, schedules, edit history — is stored in a local database on your device. It is not transmitted to us.

If you enable iCloud sync, the app syncs this data between your devices through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit private database). That data is protected by your Apple Account and Apple’s iCloud security; we have no access to it. Disabling iCloud sync keeps the app fully functional on a single device.

What we collect

Nothing. The app’s App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”, and its privacy manifest declares no data collection and no tracking.

Third-party services

The app makes exactly one kind of outbound network request: if you use wages in more than one currency, it fetches current exchange rates from Frankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev), a free, open exchange-rate service. This request contains no personal data, no identifiers, and no account information — it only names the currencies to convert. Rates are cached on your device. No other third-party services are used.

Accounts

There are none. The app never asks you to register, log in, or provide an email address.

Your team’s data

You may enter information about other people (your team members’ names, availability, and wages). That data stays under your control, on your device and in your iCloud, subject to the same guarantees above. It is your responsibility to handle your team’s information in line with any local rules that apply to you as an employer or manager.

Deleting your data

Children

autorota is a workplace tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes how data is handled — for example, an optional cloud-backed tier — this policy will be updated first, and the “effective date” above will change.
